JW's imprisoned in Turkmenistan

Ashgabat: no amnesty for Jehovah’s Witnesses
"Turkmen president issued an amnesty this month, but did include those who refuse compulsory military service on grounds of conscientious objection, like Jehovah’s Witnesses. The latter got two years of hard labour and had their Bible seized..."

This is a perfect example of the discussion in today's text. Even people who claim to be 'non-conformist' continue to mindlessly hand over their lives and the lives of their children in this endless cycle of combat, instead of pursuing peace. It makes no sense. They'd rather die for their government, than live for their God. If everyone stood their ground on this issue and maintained their integrity like our brothers are doing in every nation, war would end tomorrow. I'm so proud of them.
