"God is greater than our hearts and knows all things." (1 John 3:20)
If we have sinned seriously but have taken the necessary steps to show that we have really repented, we can draw comfort from the psalmist’s words: “He [Jehovah] has not done to us even according to our sins; nor according to our errors has he brought upon us what we deserve. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, his loving-kindness is superior toward those fearing him. As far off as the sunrise is from the sunset, so far off from us he has put our transgressions. As a father shows mercy to his sons, Jehovah has shown mercy to those fearing him. For he himself well knows the formation of us, remembering that we are dust.” (Psalm 103:10-14) Our heart will “not condemn us” if we trust in Jehovah, display brotherly love, and are not guilty of practicing deliberate sin.—1 John 3:19-22.

*I listened to a recording of one of the best talks I've ever heard on this subject a few months back. The theme was based on the scripture of today's text, and the title was either, "Jehovah is greater than our hearts" or "God is greater than our hearts." It was given by a brother who had an Italian name ... Br. Ianelli (?) I think. He sounded like Alan Alda from M.A.S.H. -I've gotta try and get a copy of it because it was so encouraging.
