* I just wanted to mention some additional info related to this week's #3 part on the theocratic ministry school, "Who Is Your God?" and the importance of using God's name. One sister gave a good illustration about a little kid who gets lost from their mom at the grocery store. She said that if one of the grocery store clerks were to try to page the child's mother over the loudspeaker and says: "Would MOM please come to the front of the store, your child is looking for you" -what would happen? There are dozens of MOMs shopping at any given moment, so obviously you would need to address the woman by her personal NAME not just a general TITLE. Or if one of your good friends never used your name when they talked to you, but just called you "friend" all the time, that would be a little strange and impersonal right? So those are some good ways to illustrate the importance of using Jehovah's personal name instead of just using the titles LORD and GOD, since 1 Corinthians 8:5 says that "there are many "gods" and many "lords." Even Satan is referred to as the "god" of this system of things. (2 Corinthians 4:4)
And even if a person isn't familiar with Jehovah's name because its not in their Bible, there are many outside secular and religious references confirming that fact, which we can show them. It's in the Catholic Encyclopedia, and the "foreward" or "preface" in many King James Bibles (usually the older ones) has a disclaimer stating that any place where the word LORD appears in capital letters is where the name Jehovah was removed. I was suprised seeing this clip where even Pat Robertson explains it! (he was a little bit on the 'untactful' side though. lol) Also the word "Hallelujah" (which everyone is familiar with) means "praise Jah" (Jah being a shortened form of Jehovah).
